Happy New Year to everyone and hopefully you have had a relaxing break over the holiday period and are back at work ready to achieve some great results in your businesses this year.

Part of any business strategy has to include ‘on-line’ now more than ever. Where does anyone look for anything they want? ? Yes - on Google! Or, they search online using one of the other search engines. Every business MUST have an on-line presence. It is a necessity not a luxury any more.

Do you have a strong on-line presence?
Are your clients and potential customers able to find you?
Is your website uncomplicated with a clear message about who you are and what you do?
Does it load quickly?
Do all the links work?
Is there a clear call to action?
Can it be viewed on smart phones, iPads and iPhones?
Do you have a good CMS platform so that you can make changes yourself?
Do you have a good social media presence?

If you answered NO to any of those questions, then it is definitely time for your website or online strategy to get a makeover, and NOW is the time to get it done before the year gets away from you. We have just taken on a new client who has just had his website built. It is a marketing disaster! I couldn't even work out what the site was about. Complicated design and menus, no call to action, sliding banner that had too much text and changed rapidly. The site was overwhelming and pointless as no one would hang around on that site long enough to work it out. He told me when I spoke to him that 'they offered no advice to him and he had no idea about what he needed'. He is now paying to have the site totally overhauled. Wait and see but he may let us do another post later on, on the before and after.

So, the marketing advice is just as important as having a beautiful design or amazing coding - maybe more!
